AGILE is detecting enhanced gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from the FSRQ PKS 0131-522 (z=0.02; also known as 3FGL J0133.2-5159), at Galactic coordinates (l, b) = (288.4, -63.8) +/- 0.6 deg (stat.) +/- 0.1 deg (sys.). An increased gamma-ray luminosity, on November 16-17, has been previously reported by Fermi-LAT (ATel #10987).

Integrating from 2017-11-22 03:00:00 UT to 2017-11-24 03:00:00 UT, a preliminary maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a flux F(E>100 MeV)=(2.5 +/- 0.8) x 10^-6 ph cm^-2 s^-1 and a significance greater than 5 sigma.

This measurement was obtained with AGILE observing a large portion of the sky in spinning mode. Multifrequency observations of PKS 0131-522 are strongly encouraged
