We report the spectroscopic classification of SN 2017hjs, discovered by the Tsinghua-NAOC Transient Survey (TNTS) in 2MASX J23290997+2809164.
The observation was performed with the Asiago 1.82 m Copernico Telescope equipped with AFOSC (range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.4 nm).
Survey Name | IAU Name | Discovery date | Discovery mag | z | Type | Phase | Notes
AT 2017hjs | SN 2017hjs | 2017-10-14 05:31:12 | 18.8. | 0.096 | Ia | at Max | (1)
(1) The spectrum is consistent with that of a normal Type Ia SN around maximum light, at a redshift 0.096 (retrieved from SNID). The expansion velocity deduced from the Si II 635.5 nm absorption is about 11000 km/s.
The classification was done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488,
383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
