We report the following classifications of optical transients from spectroscopic observations with the Kast spectrograph on the Shane telescope. Targets were supplied by ASAS-SN and Gaia. All observations were made on 2017 June 22 UT. Classifications were performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
Name | IAU Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
Gaia17boq | AT2017evj | 14:29:43.40 | +07:15:15.62 | 0.052 | Ia | +18 d |
ASASSN-17hz | AT2017evn | 11:47:23.27 | +23:21:53.57 | 0.017 | Ia | -7 d | (1)
Notes:
When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy.
(1) We measure an Si II 6355 velocity of -11,200 km/s.
