The Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et al. 2014, AN, 335, 841) reports the spectroscopic observation of ASASSN-17eb (aka AT2017cju) candidate SN in the galaxy 2MASX J15383353+1320423.
The observations were performed with the Asiago 1.82 m Copernico Telescope equipped with AFOSC (range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.4 nm).

(1) A good match is obtained with several normal Type Ia SNe around B-band maximum light. Assuming a redshift z=0.04933 for the host galaxy, we infer an expansion velocity of 11100 km/s for the ejected material from the position of the minimum of the Si II 635nm feature.
Classifications were done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The Asiago classification spectra are posted at the website http://sngroup.oapd.inaf.it.
