During a recent INTEGRAL public observation of the Norma region, performed between 2017-02-14 00:07:42 and 2017-02-14 08:49:44 (UTC), activity from the Supergiant Fast X-ray Transient (SFXT) IGR J16479-4514 has been detected.
IGR J16479-4514 is an SFXT with the shortest orbital period (3.3 days, Jain et al. 2009) and with a super-orbital modulation of 11.88 day (Corbet & Krimm 2013).
In a single Science Window, with a start time 2017-02-14 04:56:38 UTC and an exposure time of 1143 s, the 18-40 keV IBIS/ISGRI intensity corresponds to (48+/-8) mCrab.
Source has been detected on the 18-40 keV mosaic image
with a intensity of (9.7+/-1.1) mCrab (exposure time of 16 ks).
