The Caltech Time Domain Astronomy group reports the classification of Gaia16cdi (SN 2016iyf), discovered by the Gaia ESA survey.
The follow-up spectroscopic observations were performed with the Spectral Energy Distribution Machine (SEDM)
(http://www.astro.caltech.edu/sedm/, range 350-950nm, spectral resolution R~100) on Palomar 60-inch (P60) telescope.
The classification spectrum is available on TNS.
