The Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et
al. 2014, AN, 335, 841) reports the spectroscopic classification of
SN2016gdt in IC1407. The target was supplied by the Italian
Supernovae Search Project (ISSP).
The observations were performed with the Asiago 1.82 m Copernico
Telescope equipped with AFOSC (range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.4 nm).
IAU Name | Host galaxy | Discovery (UT)| Observation (UT)| Type | Phase | Notes
SN 2016gdt| IC1407 | 2016-09-08.98 | 2016-09-10.92 |Ia-91bglike | max | (1)
(1) Spectrum consistent with type Ia SN 1991bg-like at maximum. The host galaxy redshift
is from Falco et al. (1999, PASP, 111, 438) retrived from NED.
The expansion velocity deduced from the SiII 635.5nm absorption is about 11500 km/s
The classification was performed using the GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) tools.
The Asiago classification spectra are posted at the website http://sngroup.oapd.inaf.it.
