The Nearby Supernova Factory reports that a spectrum (range 320-1000 nm) of supernova 2005kh (CBET #292), obtained November 22.6 UT with the Supernova Integral Field Spectrograph (SNIFS) on the University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescope, shows it to be a a Type II SN, at a redshift consistent with that of its host NGC 3094 (z = 0.00802; Haynes et al. 1997 AJ 113, 1197). The spectrum exhibits P-Cygni profiles from H-alpha in net emission (maximum expansion velocity 6800 km/s) and He I 5876, as well as the Ca II IR triplet in emission.
