BRIGHTENED MIRA-LIKE VARIABLE IN M31

BRIGHTENED MIRA-LIKE VARIABLE IN M31
We report that the POINT-AGAPE Survey Mira variable No. 91772 in M31, has
brightened to 1.4 mag above it's previously detected maximum about 20.1 mag in
R band. We discovered an unusually bright star located at R.A. = 0h42m44s.49,
Decl. = +41o03'43".6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 0".12 west and 0".12 south
of the variable. Available R magnitudes from CCD images taken with the 50/70
cm Schmidt telescope at NAO Rozhen , Bulgaria: Sept. 8.951 UT, 18.8; 10.014 UT,
18.7; 11.041 UT, 18.7; 12.023 UT, 18.8; 13.031 UT, 18.7. Nothing visible at
this position on images back to June 2004 (limiting mag about 19.5).
