The Nearby Supernova Factory reports that a spectrum (range 340-1000
nm) of the supernova in ESO 506-G011 (Weidong Li, private
communication), obtained Mar 4.46 UT with the SuperNova Integral Field
Spectrograph on the University of Hawaii 2.2-m telescope, shows it to
be a very young Type II. The spectrum is very blue and practically
featureless, save for the presence of very weak H-alpha and He I
(587.6 nm) P-Cygni lines.
