A spectrum (410-950 nm) of the recent M31 nova candidate,
M31N 2008-10a, was obtained by John Caldwell and Chevo Terrazas
with the 9.2m Hobby-Eberly Telescope
(+ Marcario Low-Resolution Spectrograph) on 2008 October 18.3 UT,
approximately 11 days post discovery.
The spectrum is dominated by relatively narrow Balmer and Fe II emission
features (FWHM H&alpha ~ 1200 km/s) superimposed on a flat continuum.
These data confirm that M31N 2008-10a is a classical nova, and that it is
a member of the Fe II spectral class.
