We report on SALT spectroscopy of a candidate microlensing event Gaia20bof/AT2020fnk, discovered by Gaia Science Alerts program on 2020-03-29. A low resolution (R = 350) SALT/RSS spectra was taken on 2020-06-06, under the SALT Large Programme on transients (2018-2-LSP-001).

Name | IAU name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | Disc. Date | Disc. Mag | Obs. Date | Class | Notes
Gaia20bof | AT2020fnk | 12:18:28.36 | -63:29:50.14 | 2020-03-29 | 15.14 | 2020-06-06 | star/ULENS | (1)

(1) Data shows the stellar spectrum with only absorption lines. Spectrum fits reddened GK-type star. Since the star is located in the Galactic plane, the reddening is to be expected.

We acknowledge ESA Gaia, DPAC and the Photometric Science Alerts Team (http://gsaweb.ast.cam.ac.uk/alerts).

The spectrum is available at the IAU's Transient Name Server for AT2020fnk
