During a recent INTEGRAL observation of the Galactic Plane Scan (PI: Dr. A. Bazzano), the IBIS/ISGRI instrument detected a bright X-ray source (13 sigma and 5 sigma in the 22-60 keV and 60-100 keV energy bands, respectively) at a position consistent with Swift J1713.4-4219. The source was discovered by Swift/BAT on 2009 Nov 13 (MJD 55148) in the 15-50 keV band. RXTE reported a hard spectrum in the 2.5-30 keV band, consistent with a black hole transient in the low/hard state (Krimm, H. A. et al., ATel #2300).
We detected Swift J1713.4-4219 with IBIS/ISGRI during scans performed in revolution 2144 (between 2019-10-03 16:52:57 UTC and 2019-10-04 09:20:32 UTC) in the 22-60 keV energy range at the position RA(J2000)=258.39 deg DEC(J2000)=-42.31 deg, 2.4' error radius with an effective exposure time of 4.2 ksec. The 22-60 keV flux was measured at 26+-2 mCrab. The source is also detected in the 60-100 keV band with a flux of 30+-6 mCrab.
We obtained a spectrum in the 30-100 keV range (exposure time 25 ksec) that is consistent with a power-law model (with a reduced chi2 of 0.9 for 18 degrees of freedom), Gamma=1.9+-0.3 and an extrapolated flux in 20-100 keV of ~4.7E-10 erg s-1 cm-2.
In JEM-X the source is detected only below 10 keV for 7.8 ksec at the best fit position RA(J2000)=258.40 deg, DEC(J2000)=-42.31 deg (error circle 2 arcmin). The measured intensity is 9 +/-3 mCrab between 3-10 keV.
All the data have been analyzed using the Offline Software Analysis version 11.0 (OSA11).
