We report photometric observations of the optical transient Gaia17bqo which was discovered by Gaia on 2017-06-30 at magnitude G = 18.03. We confirmed Gaia17bqo with images taken on 2017-07-02 with the 0.6-m Zeiss telescope at the Terskol Observatory (see Fig. 1). There is no progenitor object on archival images. We detected a rapid decay of Gaia17bqo with changing its color within four days. The following magnitudes of the object were derived:
MJD | B | eB | V | eV |
57936.95 | 17.48 | 0.09 | 18.00 | 0.16 |
57937.99 | 17.60 | 0.06 | 17.66 | 0.11 |
57940.01 | 18.10 | 0.20 | 19.30 | 0.20 |
The magnitudes were calibrated against NOMAD field stars; they are not corrected for the Galactic foreground extinction.
