We obtained a spectrum of SMT17kdl/SN2017edm on 2017-05-26 using the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on the ANU 2.3m telescope at Siding Spring Observatory near Coonabarabran, NSW, Australia, using the B3000/R3000 gratings (3500-9800 A, 1 A resolution). Classification was performed using SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) and the object is well matched to several normal type Ia supernova nine days post-max at a redshift of 0.133 which is consistent with the host redshift.
