We obtained optical spectra of ASASSN-16ol (ATel #9826) and ASASSN-16oq (ATel #9838) on UT 2016 December 12.1 and 12.3, respectively, with the Goodman Spectrograph on the SOAR telescope. Classification with SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) indicates ASASSN-16ol is a normal Type Ia SN at z~0.027 about 3 days before peak, and ASASSN-16oq is a normal Type Ia SN about 10 days past peak. The redshift of ASASSN-16oq is consistent with proposed host galaxy AM 1228-353 NED02 (z=0.019920, via NED).
