We report the discovery of a possible supernova on a co-added 35-min unfiltered CCD image taken on 2016 Oct 9.944 UT with the 0.60-m Schmidt telescope at Konkoly Observatory, Piszkesteto, Hungary. The transient is also present on a similar co-added frame taken previously, on 2016 Sep 29.959 UT.

The new object is located at R.A. = 01h20m22s.63, Decl. = -00d04'20".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 8" east and 24" north of the center of the presumed host galaxy SDSS J012023.13-000444.3 (r=14.27 mag, z = 0.07741 from SDSS). No point source is visible at this position on co-added 35-min reference images taken on 2016 Sep 27.
