We report optical spectroscopy (range 370-910 nm) of four supernovae discovered by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN; Shappee et al. 2014, ApJ, 788, 48) using the du Pont 2.5-m telescope (+ WFCCD) at Las Campanas Observatory on July 31 and Aug. 01 2016 UT. We performed a cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024). The details of the classifications are as follows:
Name Disc. ATel Spec. Type Phase Redshift
ASASSN-16gm ATel #9188 Ia 31.8 (13.7) 0.036 (0.002; SNID)
ASASSN-16gz ATel #9222 Ia 33.2 (15.0) 0.033 (0.003; SNID)
ASASSN-16ha ATel #9222 Ia 29.5 (7.8) 0.022529 (host/NED)
ASASSN-16hw ATel #9278 Ia -1.3 (4.8) 0.015 (0.005; SNID)
We note that our classification and redshift of ASASSN-16hw agrees with the PESTO classification (ATel #9289). We also note that SNID returned reasonable 91bg-like matches for ASASSN-16gz.
