We report the following classifications of optical transients from spectroscopic observations with the Goodman spectrograph on the SOAR 4-m telescope. Targets were supplied by the Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients (PSST). All observations were made on 2016 June 10 UT. Classifications were performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase
PS16cqc | 21:06:11.50 | -25:10:40.0 | 0.039 | Ia | +3 months
PS16cro | 21:27:20.05 | -02:44:37.1 | 0.087 | II | +1 month
Notes:
When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy.
