Following the report of the AGILE detection of the high redshift (z = 1.26) FSQR S5 1039+81 also known as HB89 1039+811, cross correlated with the gamma-ray source 2FGLJ1042.6+8053. We carried out NIR photometry of this object, on April 15th,2016 (MJD 2457493.874) we found this source with a flux corresponding to H = 15.539 +/- 0.04, while on MJD 24576376 it had H = 15.941+/- 0.05. Hence, it has had an increment of about 0.4 mag in this lapse. Our observations are carried out with the 2.1m telescope of the Guillermo Haro Observatory operated by the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (Mexico), equipped with the instrument CANICA a NIR camera. We strongly encourage further multiwavelength coverage.
