We obtained a spectrum of ATLAS16ago/SN 2016bev (ATel #8839) on 2016 March 22.5 UT with the robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the LCOGT 2-meter telescope in Siding Spring, Australia. The spectrum has very low signal-to-noise due to moon brightness, but a broad H-alpha P Cygni feature is visible at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.011; Takata et al. 1994, A&AS, 104, 529, via NED). We therefore classify it as a Type II supernova. The spectrum is available on the Transient Name Server.
