PESSTO, the Public ESO Spectroscopic Survey for Transient Objects (see
Smartt et al. 2015, A&A, 579, 40 http://www.pessto.org ), reports the
following supernova classification.
The target was supplied by Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients (see Huber et
al., ATel #7153).
Observation was performed on the ESO New
Technology Telescope at La Silla on 2016 February 05th, using EFOSC2 and
Grism 11 (3360-7460, 14A resolution).
Classifications was done with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024)
and GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383).
Classification spectrum and additional details can be obtained from http://www.pessto.org
(via WISeREP).

a. Discovered originally as PS16adq. Very similar to early SN 2001V spectra (Matheson et al 2008, AJ 135,1598), but with shallower Si-II 635.5nm absorption. A broad feature at 651.4nm is likely C-II 658.0nm. The expansion velocity deduced from the Si-II 635.5nm and C-II 658.0nm absorptions are about 12500km/s and 11800km/s, respectively.
