PSN J16303221+0913530 (RA=16:30:32.21 DEC=+09:13:53.0, mag=18.2) was discovered by Crni Vrh Observatory on 2015-08-05.85 UT, refer to CBAT report http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/followups/J16303221+0913530.html for details.

We conducted an observation of this transient on 2015-08-07T21:08:52 UT. A spectrum was obtained in the visible, 400-800nm, with resolution R~350, using the SPRAT spectrograph on the Liverpool Telescope located at Roque de los Muchachos on La Palma.

Classification using SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) indicates it is a type Ia supernova with estimated redshift z=0.078, consistent with that of the proposed host galaxy SDSS J163032.17+091346.5, z=0.076. We find a close match with SN1999ee at maximum.

We estimate an expansion velocity from the Si-II (635.5nm) absorption feature of 10,000 km/s.
