We report the spectroscopic confirmation of ASASSN-15fz (ATel #7320) through observations obtained with the 1.82-m Copernico Telescope of the Asiago Astronomical Observatory (+ AFOSC; range 340-820 nm, resolution 3.4 nm).

A low signal to noise spectrogram of ASASSN-15fz obtained on Mar. 30.94 UT under poor seeing conditions shows a blue continuum and a clear emission at 666 nm. Adopting for the host galaxy NGC 5227 a redshift z = 0.017479 (Falco et al. 1999, PASP, 111, 438; obtained via NED), that line is identified as Halpha, and hence ASASSN-15fz is likely a very young Type II SN.

The Asiago classification spectra are posted at this website: URL http://sngroup.oapd.inaf.it. The classification was made using the GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A.Ap. 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) tools.
