The Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et al. 2014, AN, 335, 841) reports the spectroscopic observation
of the following transients.
The observations were performed with the Asiago 1.82 m Copernico Telescope
(+AFOSC; range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.4 nm).
Name | Date (UT) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
PS15mb | 20150312.98 | 0.029 | Ia | at max |
ASASSN-15ed | 20150313.15 | 0.049 | Ibn | young | (1)
(1) The spectrum shows a blue continuum with some broad undulations below 550 nm, and with narrow (velocity ~1350 km/s) P-Cygni lines of He I 4471, 5876, 6678 and 7065 superimposed, suggesting a Type Ibn classification (Pastorello et al. 2008, MNRAS, 389, 113). The redshift estimated from these narrow P-Cygni features agrees with that determined from Halpha, Na I D and Ca II H&K absorption lines in the core of the host galaxy. From the apparent magnitude of V = 17.1 on 2015 March 1.59 (ATel #7163), we estimate an absolute magnitude MV = −19.5 mag.
Classification was done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
