MASTER OT J002253.29+134041.0 - new active CV

MASTER-Kislovodsk auto-detection system discovered OT source at (RA, Dec) = 00h 22m 53.29s +13d 40m 41.0s on 2015-01-13.72456 UT. The OT unfiltered magnitude is 17.1m (limit 19.8m). The OT is seen in 9 images. There is no minor planet at this place. We have reference image without OT on 2010-11-06.79376 UT with unfiltered magnitude limit 20.4m.

The OT at quiescence is identical to the blue star SDSS J002253.21+134040.6 (g=20.29 r=20.13 i=19.55) = USNO-A2.0 0975-00079305 (00 22 53.18 +13 40 40.4 R=18.0 B=17.9) = USNO-B1.0 1036-0003917 (B1=19.18 R1=18.25 B2=19.82 R2=20.10 I=18.35) with a detectable proper motion between the 1st and 2nd epoch Palomar plates. There is also an UV counterpart with two entries in GALEX data: GALEX J002253.2+134041 (FUV=19.69+/-0.12, NUV=20.52+/-0.13) and GALEX J002253.1+134040 (FUV=20.46+/-0.06, NUV=20.95+/-0.07). The negative (FUV-NUV) color index is remarkable. The object is not present in 1RXS, 2MASS, GCVS and AAVSO VSX.

The star is showing large-amplitude variability (~18.0-20.5m) between the outbursts, see the light curve of CSS J002253.2+134041. We conclude that MASTER OT J002253.29+134041.0 is a new cataclysmic variable. Follow up observations are required.
