We report an optical spectrogram (range 370-850 nm) of ASAS15ae (ATel 6870) that was obtained on 2015 Jan.08.93 UT with the 2.16-m telescope (+BFOSC) at Xinglong Station of NAOC. The spectrum is similar to that of a type Ia supernovae around the maximum. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the comparison tool Gelato (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) shows that it matches with SN 1981B at t = -1.0 days. Given a redshift of 0.031 for the host galaxy, an expansion velocity of about 11900 km/s can be deduced from the Si II 635.5 absorption minimum.
