We carried out radio observations of the blackhole X-ray binary H1743-322 (IGR J17464-3213, ATel#6474) with the Jansky VLA in the X-band (8-12 GHz). The on-source observations were carried out between 2014 Sep 20, 23:56:26 UT and 2014 Sep 21, 00:18:22 UT. We detected H1743-322 (coordinates 17:46:15.61, -32:14:00.6) with the following flux densities:
-----------------------
Freq Flux
(GHz) (mJy)
-----------------------
8.5 1.045 +/- 0.015
9.5 0.973 +/- 0.015
10.3 0.835 +/- 0.018
11.0 0.772 +/- 0.018
-----------------------
Spectral index = -1.2 +/- 0.1
We also detect a source ~12" south of H1743-322 (coordinates 17:46:15.64 -61:14:12.1), but its association with the LMXB is unclear. We re-analyzed X-band VLA data from 29 May 2003 and we do not detect any source at this location (RMS noise of 60 microJy/beam). The current flux densities are:
-----------------------
Freq Flux
(GHz) (mJy)
-----------------------
8.5 0.241 +/- 0.015
9.5 0.220 +/- 0.015
10.3 0.212 +/- 0.018
11.0 0.200 +/- 0.018
-----------------------

Further observations are encouraged to ascertain the nature of the southern source.
The observations were carried out as part of DDT time with project code 14B-476. We thank the Jansky VLA staff for rapidly approving the request and scheduling the observations.
