MAXI/GSC detected an active state of IM Peg. The active state seems to start from 2014/07/05 23:17:58 UT. The position of the X-ray enhancement is (R.A., Dec) = (342.920 deg, 16.967 deg) = (22 51 40, +16 58 01) (J2000) with a statistical 90% C.L. elliptical error region with long and short radii of 0.36 deg and 0.27 deg respectively. The roll angle of long axis from the north direction is 114.0 deg counterclockwise. The position was determined with the data from 2014/07/05 20:12:21 UT to 2014/07/06 17:52:19 UT. There is an additional systematic uncertainty of 0.1 deg (90% containment radius). This position is consistent with an RS CVn star, IM Peg, which is cataloged in the ROSAT Bright Source Catalog. No other source listed in the ROSAT Bright Source Catalog is in the error region. The 4-10 keV flux averaged over the 44-second triangular transit at 2014/07/06 19:28:51 UT was about 50 mCrab, corresponding to a luminosity of 1 × 10 31 ergs/s for an assumed distance of 9.6 pc. This is the first detection of this source with MAXI/GSC.
