We obtained an optical spectrum of ASASSN-14bd (ATel #6168) with the MDM 2.4m + OSMOS (range 4000-6850 Angs., res. 3 Angs.) on UT June 3.2. The spectrum of ASASSN-14bd shows characteristics of a Type Ia SN after maximum light. We used SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) to perform cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra and found that the spectrum of ASASSN-14bd is most consistent with subluminous SN Ia (91bg-like) 1-2 weeks after maximum light.
