Recently a very bright flare in blazar CGRaBS J0809+5341 was discovered in unfiltered optical observations (Shumkov et al. ATel #6070), making it one of the most luminous sources known (Balanutsa et al. ATel #6096). We observed this source using the PiCETL telescope at the University of Leicester
observatory in V and R bands, finding V=17.05 +/- 0.05 mag and R=17.44 +/- 0.07 mag at 2014-05-02.98 UT. These indicate significant fading since the values reported by Balanutsa et al. (ATel #6096), but are still ~3 magnitudes brighter than in quiescence.
