We report spectroscopic classification by OzDES of a supernova discovered
by the Dark Energy Survey (ATel #4668). The spectrum (370-885nm) was obtained
with the AAOmega Spectrograph (Saunders et al. 2004, SPIE, 5492, 389) and
the 2dF fibre positioner at the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT). Object
classification was performed using superfit (Howell and Wang, 2002, BAAS, 34, 1256), the
details of which are reported in the table below.
Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | Discovery | Discovery | Spectrum | redshift | Type | Phase | Notes
| | | Date (UT) | r Mag | Date (UT) | | | |
DES13X3woy | 02 24 28.72 | -04 58 02.3 | 2013 Dec 01 | 22.2 | 2013 Dec 26 | 0.31 | I | - | Matches a SN Ibc at maximum light or a Ia two weeks after max.
The reduced spectrum has a number of artefacts that we hope to remove when we reprocess the data with a revised version of the
2dfdr pipeline.
