Integrating from 2013-03-03 05:30 UT to 2013-03-04 11:00 UT, AGILE/GRID detects enhanced gamma-ray emission from a source positionally consistent with the Crab Nebula.

The total (pulsar + Nebula) gamma-ray flux is: F = (740 +/- 220) x 10^-8 ph cm^-2 s^-1 (E > 100 MeV) at 6 sigma statistical significance, in agreement with the Fermi LAT detection (ATel #4855).

AGILE is currently monitoring the Crab with telemetry gaps due to intermittent data acquisition at the ground station.

Multifrequency observations of the Crab are strongly encouraged.
