We report a spectroscopic follow-up of a recent M31 nova candidate,
PNV J00424629+4113517.
The follow-up was taken with the Double Spectrograph mounted on the 200-inch
Hale telescope at Palomar Observatory on UT 2013/02/18. In the wavelength range from 3500A to 10000A, the target shows a nebular spectrum with strong emission lines, including Balmer series and high-order Paschen lines, O I 7773, O I 8226, O I 8447, near-IR
Ca II triplet, N I 8212, N I 8692 and Fe II lines between 4900A and 5500A. The FWHM of Halpha is ~1,600 km/s. This spectrum confirms that PNV J00424629+4113517 is a Fe-II nova in M31.
