We report a re-brightening of MAXI J1409-619, which is a galactic transient source discovered by MAXI/GSC in Oct 2010 (Yamaoka et al, ATEL #2959). Following the discovery, Swift/XRT succeeded in the accurate localization (Kennea et al, ATEL #2962) and the detection of an ~500s period (Kennea et al, ATEL #3060). We show the flux change measured by MAXI/GSC in the following table.

Center of Time-averaged Energy Spacecraft
One-day Bin Flux Band Instrument

2010-11-28.5 19 +/- 4 4-10 MAXI/GSC
2010-11-30.5 24 +/- 6 4-10 MAXI/GSC
2010-12-01.5 44 +/- 5 4-10 MAXI/GSC
2010-12-02.5 37 +/- 5 4-10 MAXI/GSC
2010-12-03.5 48 +/- 5 4-10 MAXI/GSC

We have also compiled recent X-ray fluxes of MAXI J1409-619, which are taken from other telegrams. Both Swift/XRT (ATEL #2962) and RXTE/PCA (ATEL #2969) revealed significant X-ray variability of this source on time scales of hundreds of seconds. To make comparison easy between the first and the next tables, we use the time average of flux. The next table lists time-averaged fluxes over 1ks for Swift/XRT's first observation, a net exposure of 7.5ks for RXTE/PCA's three observations, and 2ks for Swift/XRT's second observation.

The two tables show that the current flux level of MAXI J1409-619 is the highest since its discovery. Follow-up observations of this brightening phase are encouraged. The MAXI/GSC continues to monitor this source. The light curve is available at http://maxi.riken.jp/
