The Palomar Transient Factory (ATel #1964) reports the discovery of a new supernova, PTF10heh, located at RA = 12:48:52.04, Dec = +13:26:24.5 (J2000). PTF10heh was detected on April 4.30 UT with an R-band magnitude of 20.9 (calibrated with respect to the SDSS catalog). PTF10heh brightened to 20.1 mag on May 21.33 UT.

A spectrum of PTF10heh was obtained on May 15 UT with the Keck I 10-m telescope (+LRIS). The spectra show intermediate width emission lines from H-alpha and H-beta, and narrow absorption lines from the Mg II 2796,2803 doublet, from which we derive a redshift of z=0.338. With this redshift, the May photometry indicates a peak luminosity brighter than -21 mag absolute.
