Spectroscopic confirmation of nova 2009-08e and brightness estimates of nova candidate 2009-08c in M31

We obtained low resolution spectra of the optical nova candidate N2009-08e in M31 (RA=00 42 36.16, Dec=+41 18 02.4, J2000) discovered by Koichi Nishiyama and Fujio Kabashima, http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/CBAT_M31.html#2009-08e, on CCD frames taken around Aug. 26.672 UT.
The spectrum of N2009-8e in M31 has been taken on 2009 Sept. 18.014 with the Russian 6-m telescope (BTA) equipped with the SCORPIO spectral camera. The spectral range 374-783 nm, resolution 1.27 nm. During the observations we measured the star brightness: 18.043 UT, 19.09 +/-0.08 (V band). We have also the star brightness estimates taken with the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov Observatory: Aug. 29.941 UT, 17.9; 30.866, 18.0; 31.884, 18.1; Sept. 1.978, 17.9; 5.913, 18.1; 6.893, 18.7; 8.857, 18.4; 9.767, 18.2; 19.951, 18.2 in R-band with uncertainty 0.1 -0.2 mag.
M31N_2009-08e shows a typical spectrum of the âFeII groupâ slow novae with many FeII emission lines. The Balmer emission lines are the strongest features in the spectrum. Weak blue shifted absorption components are detected in H-beta and higher Balmer emissions. Because of the strong galactic background the red continuum spectrum is not determined properly and we do not measure the equivalenth width of the H-alpha line. Equivalent width of H-beta line is 22 nm. H-alpha line width corrected for spectral resolution is FWHM = 1230 km/s, H-beta line width is 1110 km/s. The heliocentric radial velocity of H-alpha is -300 km/s and that of H-beta is -400 km/s. The full width at zero intensity in H-alpha is 3800 km/s.
We have estimated brightness of M31N 2009-08c nova candidate (RA=00 42 41.22, Dec=+41 17 01.3, J2000), discovered by K. Hornoch and P. Zasche on 2009 June 3.474 UT, http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/CBAT_M31.html#2009-08c, which is located in the same images. It is Aug. 29.941 UT, 17.7; 30.866, 17.9; 31.884, 18.2; Sept. 1.978, 18.4; 5.913, 18.1; 6.893, 18.2; 8.857, 18.9; 9.767, 18.7 with uncertainties of 0.2 - 0.3 mag (R-band, the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov Observatory) and 18.043 UT, 20.2 +/- 0.2 (V-band, BTA).
