On UT 2008 Sep 13.18, P60-FasTING (Palomar 60-inch Fast Transients In Nearby Galaxies) discovered a possible nova in M31 at RA(J2000) = 00:41:46.72, DEC(J2000) = 41:07:52.1, offset from the nucleus by 10.8'W, 8.3'S. P60-M31-080913 has a brightness of g = 19.0 +/- 0.2 at discovery (photometric calibration wrt NOMAD catalog). It is further confirmed to rise to g=18.1 on Sep 14.18. It is not detected to g > 21.5 on images obtained on Sep 12.30. Spectroscopic confirmation and classification is encouraged.
