Strongest radio flare of Ton 599 for the second year in a row

In February 2023 we reported the historical high flux density level of the flat-spectrum radio quasar Ton 599 (4C +29.45) at 1.2-36.8 GHz (ATel #15894). Now we detect even stronger flare in radio band, which follows the recent optical brightening (ATel #16663) and our earlier report on intensifying of the activity in radio band and developing multi-band flare in March 2024 (ATel #16557). In the period 01-13 July 2024 the flux densities, measured with RATAN-600, have reached the following values (in Jy):

Average flux density value at 2.3 GHz is 2.6 Jy, and at 1.2 GHz is 1.6 Jy at this period. On July 8th the inverted radio spectrum of the blazar had a spectral index α
4.7-22.3 = +0.23 (0.02). Thus, this is the new maximum value of the radio flux density at 4.7-11.2 GHz for the entire observation period of Ton 599 since the 1980s. We are continuing systematic monitoring of Ton 599 and encourage multi-wavelength observations of this blazar.
