LCOGT observations of the 2023 eruption of the M31 recurrent Nova M31N 2013-10c (PSP23N, AT 2023yoa, M31N 2023-11f, ULL-ASTRO-MASTER-8)

The M31 nova candidate PSP23N (AT 2023yoa) was discovered by Xu et al. (XOSS) on 2023-11-27 19:56:16 UT at a magnitude of 16.2 (Clear). It was spectroscopically classified as a M31 nova by Balcon (Belluno A.O. ISSP) and reported to TNS. Zhang (TNS comment) and Shafter et al. (ATel #16354) report that the nova position is close to PNV J00430954+4115399 (M31 2013-10c), discovered by the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (LOSS) and reported to CBAT (see also Hornoch et al. ATel #5468 and Hornoch et al. ATel #5503), and is likely a recurrent nova.

Here, we report follow-up imaging and detection of this nova with the Las Cumbres Observatory 40 cm telescope, equipped with an SBIG camera, at the Las Cumbres Observatory node at Haleakala, in a 180 sec observation in the SDSS g' filter on 2023-11-28 05:23:01 UT, at g' = 16.41 +/- 0.15. We measure a position of RA (J2000)= 00:43:09.528, Dec (J2000) = +41:15:40.25, calibrated precisely with Gaia DR3 stars, that is consistent with M31 2013-10c (PNV J00430954+4115399).

Further observations are strongly encouraged.
