We report the detection of nova AT 2023uri (RA = 00:43:00.610, Dec = +41:19:40.00), caught during the M31 monitoring by the GROWTH-India Telescope (GIT).

This nova was discovered by Xu et. al. (Discovery Date: 2023-10-11 14:12:47.808 UT) and was also reported in ATel #16285, ATel #16290 and ATel #16291.

We report pre-discovery magnitudes (AB) of AT 2023uri in g' = 17.77 +/- 0.09 (2023-10-11 13:14:52.326 UT) and r' = 17.71 +/- 0.09 (2023-10-11 13:27:44.166) in 360s x 2 stacked exposures. It was undetected in images taken on 2023-10-10.6 UT at a 3 sigma upper limit of 20.13 (r') and 20.75 (g') mags.

The magnitudes are calibrated against PanSTARRS DR1 (Chambers et al., 2016) and not corrected for Galactic extinction.

GIT will continue to monitor this nova.

The GROWTH India Telescope (GIT; Kumar et al. 2022) is a 70-cm telescope with a 0.7-degree field of view, set up by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) with funding from DST-SERB and IUSSTF. It is located at the Indian Astronomical Observatory (Hanle), operated by IIA. We acknowledge funding by the IITB alumni batch of 1994, which partially supports the operations of the telescope. Telescope technical details are available at https://sites.google.com/view/growthindia/.
