MAXI/GSC detection of new outbursts from Swift J1753.5-0127 and RX J1709.5-2639 (XTE J1709-267)

The MAXI/GSC nova alert system triggered on X-ray increase from the black hole X-ray binary Swift J1753.5-0127 at 01:09 (UT) on October 12, 2023. This new outburst from Swift J1753.5-0127 was first detected in optical with the LCO network on September 28 (ATel #16262). Faint X-ray emission less than 1 mCrab was detected from October 1 to 5 with Chandra/ACIS-S and Swift/XRT (ATel #16272), and radio emission was also observed on October 6 (ATel #16281).
The source has been slightly visible since October 6 with the GSC. Average 2-4 keV and 4-10 keV X-ray fluxes from October 6 to 11 are
(1.3+/-0.3)e-2 photons/cm2/s (~6 mCrab) and (0.3+/0.3)e-2 photons/cm2/s (~3 mCrab), respectively. No rapid increase was observed during the period.
The alert system also triggered on a new X-ray outburst from the low-mass X-ray binary RX J1709.5-2639 (AKA XTE J1709-267) at 14:23 (UT) on October 9, 2023. The source flux is rapidly increasing and currently about 30-40 mCrab in the 2-10 keV band. RX J1709.5-2639 exhibited outbursts every 2-3 years, and this is the 7th detection of outbursts from this source with the MAXI/GSC. The last outburst was on September, 2020 (ATel #14047).
