We obtained optical spectra of the recurrent nova M31N 2008-12a during its ongoing outburst (ATel #15786, #15787, #15788, #15789 ) on 2022-12-03 and 2022-12-04 covering a wavelength range of 3800-8000 angstorm, using the low-resolution HFOSC instrument mounted on the 2-m Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT) of the Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO), Hanle. The first spectrum obtained on 2022-12-03 shows H-Balmer lines with velocities of ~ 3000 km/s. He I line (5876) is also visible. The second spectrum obtained on 2022-12-04 has a better SNR and shows distinct double-peaked Hydrogen Balmer lines with FWHM velocity of ~ 3000 km/s for H-alpha and ~ 4500 km/s for H-beta. Lines due to He I (4471, 5876, 6678, 7065) and O I (7774) are also present. The spectra are similar to those of the previous outbursts.

We thank the HCT observers for sparing time to carry out the ToO observations. IAO is operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru, India.
