On Oct 01, 2022, during the ongoing Galactic plane survey the Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope on board the SRG observatory detected the bright X-ray source located 11 arcsec off the position of the known X-ray pulsar Swift J1816.7-1613. Given the typical ART-XC localization accuracy of 15 arcsec (90% error radius) and brightness of the source (the flux is about 10-10 erg/cm2/s in the 4-12 keV energy band, suggesting a current luminosity above 10^36 erg/s/cm^2 with the previously obtained distance estimations, Nabizadeh et.al. 2019) we believe that the system is ongoing into a new outburst. We encourage multiwavelength observations. ART-XC is the X-ray telescope on board the SRG observatory which was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome on 13 July 2019 by the Proton rocket. ART-XC has been renamed 'Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope' in honor of its first PI, Dr. Mikhail Pavlinsky.
