Following our reporting of a radio detection from the classical nova YZ Ret (see ATel #15264), we conducted further radio observations with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA).
Our ATCA observations were carried out on 2022 March 10 (603 days post-discovery in optical) and 2022 March 18 (611 days post-discovery in optical) at central frequencies of 5.5, 9.0, 16.7 and 21.2 GHz. We report the detections and 3-sigma upper limits below:
Date (UTC) | Freq (GHz) | Flux Density (mJy)
2022-03-10 | 5.500 | 1.29 +/- 0.04
2022-03-10 | 9.000 | 0.96 +/- 0.04
2022-03-10 | 16.700 | 0.51 +/- 0.04
2022-03-10 | 21.200 | 0.36 +/- 0.07
2022-03-18 | 5.500 | 1.35 +/- 0.04
2022-03-18 | 9.000 | 0.95 +/- 0.03
2022-03-18 | 16.700 | 0.45 +/- 0.06
2022-03-18 | 21.200 | < 0.28
The spectral index was calculated to be -0.9 and -1 on 2022 March 10 and March 18 respectively with a weighted scatter of ~0.95 about the linear fit in radio flux v/s frequency log-log space.
We thank CSIRO staff for supporting these observations.
