We report on the spectroscopic observations of ASASSN-22av/Gaia22ahy/AT2022aib bright Galactic transient found by the All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae ASAS-SN (see Shappee et al. 2014) and independently discovered also by Gaia Science Alerts (Hodgkin et al. 2021), https://gsaweb.ast.cam.ac.uk/alerts/alert/Gaia22ahy .
Spectra were obtained on the night of 2022 January 26th with the ESO/VLT/X-Shooter instrument with slit widths 1.0'', 0.7'', 0.6'' yielding resolutions of 6000, 10500, 8000 in UBV, VIS and NIR, respectively. Spectrum shows clear absorption features corresponding to K3III star. This confirms the transient is a microlensing event.
The visual arm of the spectrum and additional details can be obtained from the IAU Transient Name Server (TNS), https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2022aib . We thank ESO/VLT staff for support. Observations were carried out under ESO programme 108.22JZ, PI: Wyrzykowski.
