During recent observations of the Galactic Plane (PI A. Bazzano) the High Mass X-ray Binary GRO J1008-571 has entered into a new outburst.
INTEGRAL observations indicate that the hard X-ray flux is increasing.
GRO J1-57008-53 was detected by IBIS/ISGRI at 21 sigma during revolution 2381 performed between 2021-06-26 05:04:08 UTC and 2021-06-27 05:47:50 UTC, for
an effective exposure time of 10.4 ks.
The 22-60 keV IBIS/ISGRI flux corresponds to (31.5+/-1.5) mCrab.
INTEGRAL observed GRO J1008-571 also during revolution 2384 from 2021-07-04 01:05:45 UTC to 2021-07-05 04:54:35 UTC, for an effective exposure time of 9.1 ks.
The source was detected again by IBIS/ISGRI at 96 sigma, with a ~5-fold flux increase to (153.5+/-1.6) mCrab in the energy range 22-60 keV.
The source was also detected in the combined JEM-X1 and JEM-X2 mosaic with an effective exposure time of 19 ks and 17.5 ks for revolutions 2381 and 2384, respectively. The measured fluxes are the following for revolution 2381 and 2384:
(34.4 +/-1.7) mCrab in the 3-10 keV energy band
(24.8 +/-5.4) mCrab in the 10-25 keV energy band
(129.2 +/-2.2) mCrab in the 3-10 keV energy band
(145.8 +/-6.2) mCrab in the 10-25 keV energy band
All the data have been analyzed using the Offline Software Analysis
