We observed the field of XRT 210423 (Lin et al., ATel #14599) simultaneously in the r-sloan and z-sloan bands with the LBC imager mounted on the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT, Mt Graham, AZ, USA). We obtained 20 min of imaging on 2021-05-08 at mid-time 07:28:00 UT, that is 15 days after the discovery. Observations were performed under an average seeing of 1.0".
We do not detect any source at the position reported by Lin et al., and thus we report the following AB limiting magnitudes:
r>26.1,
z>25.1,
calibrated against SDSS field stars.
We have also investigated the LBT archive for public imaging data and found B-band coverage of the field obtained on June 2008, where we do not find any source down to the B-band limiting magnitude of 25.9 mag (Vega).
We acknowledge the excellent support from the LBTO and LBT-INAF staff, particularly F. Cusano and D. Paris in obtaining these observations.
