We report the detection with the JEM-X telescope of the INTEGRAL
observatory of a transient source SLX1746-331 in the galactic center
region. This outburst was first reported by RXTE (ATEL #143, #144).
The source was detected during a routine scan of the Galactic Plane on
Apr 8 with a flux of ~200 mCrab in the 3-10 keV energy of JEM-X.
No significant variability was measured during the ~37 min of
observation.
The spectrum of the source is well described by a disk black-body
model with a temperature of kT~1.3 keV. A preliminary analysis has
shown a possible presence of a hard component in addition to the
thermal emission above 12 keV. An upper limit of ~15 mCrab was
obtained from the ISGRI detector of the IBIS telescope of the INTEGRAL
observatory in the 15-40 keV band, which is compatible with the JEM-X
results. If the hard power law component is present in the spectrum
of the source it can not contribute more than 10% of the source flux
in the 5-40 keV band.
Previously INTEGRAL has observed the field of SLX1746-331 on March
21st. The source was not detected in this observation and only a
upper limit of 12 mCrab to its flux was obtained in the 3-10 keV band.
