The X-ray transient SAX J1750.8-2900 is detected during INTEGRAL Key
Programme observations pointed at the Galactic Center starting 2008
March 12.93 UT and lasting 2.2 days.
The source appears bright in the soft X-rays as seen by JEM-X1
since the start of the observation. The light curve shows
variability and amplitude fluctuations, up to a maximum
level of 600 mCrab in the 3-10 keV band.
A preliminary analysis of the IBIS/ISGRI data shows positive detection
for a source at a position 0.2' away from the one previously reported
by SWIFT/XRT (ATEL #
1431), thus proving identification with
SAX J1750.8-2900. The ISGRI total exposure is 172 ks.
The source appears especially bright near the end of the observation:
its intensity on March 15.00 UT
is 5.0±0.5 counts/s (about 30 mCrab) in the 20-40 keV band.
Further coverage of the source outburst will be available during the
undergoing Key Programme observations of the Galactic Center field.
